In 2003, Oudyn started her media career in Brisbane as a news reporter. She worked as a producer and researcher for factual television programs in Australia and the UK before that. She relocated to Melbourne in late 2003 and began working for the ABC’s Asia Pacific News service (now Australia Network), where she spent 18 months as a reporter and host of the breakfast news program.
In order to contribute to the 7:00 pm news bulletin, Oudyn relocated to the ABC News Victoria newsroom in 2005. Since then, she has spent 18 months on the Melbourne court round, recorded in Banda Aceh six months after the Boxing Day tsunami, presented The Midday Report for two summers, and filed network news stories.
The ABC News Victoria weekend presenter position was filled by Oudyn in February 2008, taking over for Kathy Bowlen. She took over for Kathy Bowlen, the network’s outgoing host of Stateline Victoria, in January 2009. On News Breakfast, she has filled in as a presenter.
Following Ian Henderson’s retirement from ABC News Victoria, it was announced on October 5th, 2018, that Oudyn will take over as the program’s Sunday through Thursday presenter.
