Sylvia Jeffreys is an Australian journalist and news presenter who serves as the co-host of Today Extra with David Campbell. She has worked as a reporter and presenter on Nine News, a news presenter on the Nine Network’s Today, and a reporter on A Current Affair.

As a script assistant in the newsroom, Jeffreys started her media career in August 2005 at the Nine Network in Brisbane.

She started contributing lifestyle articles to Queensland’s Extra program in 2008, and in 2009, she went back to work in the newsroom.

In 2011, Nine News Queensland named Jeffreys as their weekend weather presenter. As a reporter and weather presenter for Nine News Queensland, Sylvia covered a wide range of news events, including the floods in Central Queensland, Brisbane, Ipswich, and Grantham. She went to Tully as well in order to report on the destruction caused by Cyclone Yasi.

Sylvia relocated to Sydney in January 2012 to work as a New South Wales reporter for Today. She worked as a reporter for the program until June 2013, when Natalia Cooper took her position. She later joined Nine News as a reporter and a stand-in presenter for Today, Weekend Today, Nine Morning News, and Nine Afternoon News.

Jeffreys returned to Today in June 2014, as a newscaster, taking Georgie Gardner’s place.

In 2016, Jeffreys took over hosting duties for Nine’s netball programming, which kicked out with the Fast5 Netball World Series in Melbourne. Additionally, she serves as the host of Nine’s coverage of the 2017-launched Suncorp Super Netball league. She is no longer the network’s netball analyst.

Jeffreys left Today in 2019 and moved on to other projects, it was revealed in December 2018.

The Nine Network revealed in February 2019 that Jeffreys would work in “a few departments,” including A Current Affair.

In August 2019, Jeffreys was chosen to serve as the host of 9NewsWatch, a bulletin that airs on Facebook every weeknight at 8 p.m.

It was revealed that Jeffreys would co-host Today Extra in place of Sonia Kruger in December 2019.
