Steven Matregrano is an American journalist who serves as a digital meteorologist and reporter for 12 News since June 2020. He grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut, but spent his summers in Rhode Island as a boy. Summers in Rhode Island, from Charlestown to Narragansett to Point Judith, was a big part of his childhood.

Steven Matregrano Career
Steven earned a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Western Connecticut State University (WCSU).
While at WCSU, Steven worked as a student meteorologist in the weather department, forecasting for several Connecticut newspapers as well as the Westerly Sun in Rhode Island. He interned at WTNH News 8, where he worked on community engagement and was a part of Storm Team 8. Steven attended the 2015 Travelers Championship as part of his internship, where he met various locals and learnt about their favorite weather stories.
Before joining 12 News, Steven served as a weather producer for Spectrum News NY1 in New York City. He has long admired the massive city, which is only a train ride away from his village, but he is eager to see the Ocean State’s treasures.
Steven enjoys coming to the beach and seeing new sights and eateries, regardless of the weather.
