As the race reached the 30km mark, Lemma, Wolde, and Kandie were maintaining a pace inside the world record, albeit over a minute outside Kelvin Kiptum’s record set in Chicago in October, as reported by Olympics.com.
Around the halfway point, the trio established the leading group, with Hillary Kipkoech handling the pacemaking duties.
