Seung was brought up by one parent. However, she has not disclosed if its her mother or father.

She previously told Tucker Carlson on Twitter that she had only one parent when she was growing up, and she did just fine. Tucker tweeted, “You think any of these people worry about family separation?” following that. If they did, they would be horrified about the quantifiable and actual breakdown of the American family. They aren’t. As solid families are a barrier to their political dominance, they applaud that collapse. They constantly lecture you about the patriarchy and the shortcomings of the nuclear family because of this. Due to their policies, countless millions of American children are raised by one parent at home. They don’t mind at all.

Seung Min Kim Associated Press

Since July 2022, Seung has covered the White House for The Associated Press. She specializes in the relationship between Capitol Hill and the Biden administration.

She previously worked as a White House reporter for The Washington Post, where she mostly covered the legislative agenda and relations with Capitol Hill of President Joe Biden’s administration. Kim spent eight years at Politico, where she specialized in the Senate and immigration law, where she previously covered the Donald Trump administration.

She worked as a correspondent for a number of publications, including The Des Moines Register, The Star-Ledger, and the St. Petersburg Times. She covered the Iowa presidential primary when she was a freshman in college. Min started working for USA Today in Washington, DC, as a reporter in 2008. She started working for POLITICO in 2009 as a reporter covering immigration and the Senate.

In 2021, while she was a White House reporter for The Washington Post she experienced online bullying after a photo of her showing a tweet to Sen. Lisa Murkowski was posted on Twitter. She was questioning Sen. Lisa Murkowski about the confirmation of Neera Tanden. She asked the senator about Tanden’s tweet and since the senator had not seen it, she showed it to him. The picture attracted racist, sexist and ill-informed.

Washington Post editor Steven Ginsberg issued a statement defending Kim and said it was standard practice for Kim to show the senator the tweet if he wasn’t aware of it.

“She asked the senator general questions about outreach from the White House regarding Tanden’s nomination and asked about Tanden’s tweet.Murkowski had not seen the tweet, so Seung Min showed it to her and Murkowski’s reaction was included in a Post story about Tanden’s nomination.

What she did was basic journalism. In reporting about Tanden’s tweet, she asked Murkowski for comment. Murkowski had not seen the tweet, so Seung Min showed it to her. This is standard practice. If a subject of a story is not aware of the information they are being asked to comment on, reporters share it with them. This only makes sense and is the fair and responsible thing to do.

No one should have to deal with the hate that has been directed at Seung Min. She did her job, and she did it well, like she always does.”
