She spent a year working as a production assistant at WKEF/WRGT before beginning to sporadically report and anchor.  Faris worked as WCPO-weekend TV’s and weekday sports anchor in Cincinnati from 2002 to 2005. She worked as a sports reporter and anchor for the Chicago NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV from November 2005 to December 2011 after her contract expired.

She made her farewell appearance as a co-host of The View on July 20, and on September 29 she co-anchored her final episode of Good Morning America Weekend.

Faris joined ABC News in September 2018 and is now the network’s senior national correspondent. On November 14, “Journeys of Faith with Paula Faris,” her podcast, debuted.
