Parker received her collegiate education at San Francisco State University, and following graduation, she relocated to New York to pursue her ambitions. In a recent interview, she stated that once in New York, she considered becoming a VJ and appearing on television. She continues, “I was really young and ambitious, but also pretty naive about how business works.” It wasn’t working out as she had hoped, so she packed her belongings and returned to Sacramento, California.
Parker landed a job at Verizon Wireless in Sacramento, working typical 9 to 5 hours. She also recalls that her mother gave her a pep talk, and she was encouraged to recognize her own strength as a result. She quit her job, relocated to Los Angeles, and was hired as a runner for TMZ to run errands for the show. She worked her way up to being a producer.
