Wagstaffe serves as the on-air meteorologist, seismologist, and scientist at CBC VANCOUVER NEWS and CBC NEWS NETWORK,. She began reporting on local, regional, and international weather stories for the CBC News: Weather Centre in the summer of 2007.
Because of her expertise in seismology and earth science, Wagstaffe has covered significant seismic events, space missions, and the COP21 climate conferences in Copenhagen and Paris. She continues to work on different CBC original podcast projects while hosting two award-winning CBC Vancouver podcasts: Fault Lines and 2050: Degrees of Change.

During her summer internship at the Environment Canada Severe Weather Centre, she got her first taste of weather forecasting. Wagstaffe likes to teach kids about science, the weather, and flying when he’s not working. She obtained her pilot’s license when she was 17 years old and continues to fly on the weekends in her father’s 1943 Aeronca.
