In June 2012, Natalie departed from her role at tvOne to take on the position of Chief Executive Officer at Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting, seeking a fresh and exciting challenge. By 2014, she ventured into the realm of politics, ultimately becoming the Chairwoman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), which participated in Indonesia’s 2019 general election.
In response to the preliminary vote count results that suggested PSI might not secure a spot in the People’s Representative Council, Natalie issued a statement accepting the defeat and affirming her commitment to supporting the incumbent president, Joko Widodo. Notably, Natalie garnered an impressive 179,949 votes, the highest tally in Jakarta’s electoral district No. 3, where she secured a substantial lead over the second-place candidate, Adang Daradjatun of the Prosperous Justice Party, who received 111,549 votes.
