She packed her parka and headed west in 2015 to work as a live-eye host for CityTV Winnipeg’s morning show. She encountered polar bears in the wild, skydived with RCAF Search and Rescue Technicians, and learnt what it’s like to survive -31 degrees Celsius without wind chill.
Navitidad was soon carrying a camera on her shoulder as part of the first crew behind the debut of CityNews Winnipeg’s daily local newscast. She covered community, crime, and politics as a video journalist, with a passion for presenting the human stories behind the news.
She’s thrilled to be back in Toronto, delivering stories in her hometown. Since her return in 2018, she’s played a key role in our city’s coverage of disparities, including serious environmental concerns, how race and gender affect the lives of city workers, and groundbreaking scientific research that is saving lives and fighting disease.
