Coleen worked as the Principal Anchor for CTV News Vancouver for more than 20 years. She began her journalism career at CHEK-TV. She moved to VTV Vancouver in 1997 and has been hosting the 5 p.m. news since 2001.
She thereafter became a regular fill-in anchor for other shows. She joined the Global Television Network in April 2017 after leaving CTV in January 2017. Christie has worked as a producer/creative director in television promotion and marketing in addition to her work as a news anchor. She has hosted a number of major news events, including the Boston Marathon Bombing and national coverage of the murder trial of Robert Pickton, Canada’s most notorious serial murderer.
She was a major component of CTV’s Olympic coverage crew in 2010, as she co-anchored an unprecedented, unscripted 9-hour national broadcast of the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay’s final day through the city on the Games’ opening day. She spoke about modern news consumption at TEDx Vancouver. She won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for overall achievement as a crucial member of the CTV team.
