Sunday Express editor Martin Townsend approached Tominey about reporting on the British royal family. Then, she began her career as a royal correspondent in 2005, when she covered Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ wedding.
She joined NBC News in 2010 and co-hosted the network’s coverage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton’s wedding from outside Buckingham Palace. Tominey’s scoops have included her 2013 article about Prince Andrew being held at gunpoint by Buckingham Palace security. On October 31, 2016, she revealed Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle in an article published in the Sunday Express. At the British Press Awards, the article was nominated for Scoop of the Year.
Later, she began hosting a Sunday afternoon show on call-in radio station LBC on July 1, 2021. The show, which lasted from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., debuted on July 4. She was believed to be leaving LBC and joining GB News as a political broadcaster on August 18, 2022.
