He is well-known for being the motion capture actor of Master Chief in Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians, and Halo Infinite as well as portraying Russell Adler in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. He first came to prominence for portraying the character of Batman in a series of commercials for General Motors’ OnStar service that aired from 2000 to 2002.

He played the “UPS guy” in Legally Blonde and its sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. He made an appearance in the 2008 film Babysitter Wanted. From 2006 to 2009, he co-starred as Stephen Trager on the ABC Family original series Kyle XY. On October 8, 2008, he appeared as JP Gratton in the episode “The He in the She” of the television series Bones.
Thomas has also appeared in the sitcom Wings and the drama Weeds. He was most recently heard as Atrocitus in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Ezra Loomis in Gears of War: Judgement, Desaad in Justice League: War, and James Gordon in Son of Batman.
He did motion capture for Spartan John-117, the protagonist of Halo 4 (2012), as well as Halo 5: Guardians (2015) and Halo Infinite (2016). (2021).
It was previously reported that Thomas played Batman in the pilot and premiere episodes of The WB’s Birds of Prey TV series. During a podcast interview, Thomas personally debunked this claim.
