Boyer began her career as an anchor and multi-media journalist for the WPSU State’s Centre County Report, where she provided online and on-air programming. She also worked for AccuWeather Network as an on-air weather announcer, where she learnt a lot about weather presentation from Chief Meteorologist Bernie Rayno.
She received the opportunity to work as a reporter for WJAC-TV after nearly a year of working there. As a reporter, she covered Joe Paterno’s death and the riots in Pennsylvania. She also served as a fill-in Weather Anchor for West Central, Pennsylvania.
Boyer departed the station after two years to work as a weekend TV meteorologist for WNEP-TV. She worked for an ABC affiliate station and covered 17 counties in Pennsylvania, as well as tornadoes and winter storms.
