Betsy began her career back in May 1997 when she started working as a weekend meteorologist for WKJG-TV. Up until August 2000, she worked for the station in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, area. She relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where she now works as a weekend meteorologist for WTLV/WJXX TV.
Up until February 2003, Betsy worked in this position. She had accumulated enough experience by this point to work in mainstream media. She began working at WKYC in March 2003, making her one of the station’s long-tenured personnel. If she is still employed with the station in March 2024, she will commemorate her 20th anniversary.
From January 2020 on, Betsy hosted “What’s New” and “What’s Now.” When she moved to Cleveland in 2008, she became the city’s first female chief meteorologist.
She was awarded both the National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval and the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation by the American Meteorological Society (NWA). Betsy is the first individual to have received the National Weather Association’s Member of the Year designation twice. She was also chosen as the 2021 Broadcaster of the Year.
