Asimus began her career as a journalist in 2008, working at Seven Queensland’s Townsville newsroom. She was first assigned to Seven’s Brisbane Newsroom as a court reporter in 2010.
Asimus presented the weather during the 2011 floods, then stepped into the post of weekend weather presenter full-time shortly after. She earned a tertiary degree in climatology from the University of Southern Queensland while doing so.
Asimus began working as a fill-in news anchor alongside Patrick Condren in 2012. She used to step in for Kay McGrath and Sharyn Ghidella on a regular basis.
Asimus made her national debut as a news anchor on Seven Morning News and Seven Afternoon News on July 12, 2013, sitting in for Ann Sanders.
