Davies is a Channel 4 News Home Affairs Correspondent who covers Wales and the West of England. In 2006, he joined the network.

The Royal Television Society recognized him TV Journalist of the Year in 2019. This came after his award-winning Cambridge Analytica investigation and ‘Out in the Cold’ homelessness series for the show. His documentary ‘Her Name Was Lindy,’ about a 32-year-old homeless woman who died in Cardiff, was nominated for the Orwell Prize for Exposing Britain’s Social Evils.

He has covered some of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent years (April Jones; Ian Watkins; Jo Yeates; Becky Watts) and has previously broken several exclusives on the phone hacking scandal from his Cardiff bureau. He is the only journalist who has spoken with ex-police officer Bob Lambert about his well publicized double life as a father while working undercover.

He worked as a correspondent for BBC Panorama and BBC Northern Ireland before joining Channel 4 News. In 1994, he started as a news trainee at the BBC and worked as a producer before going to BBC Northern Ireland to report for daily radio and television news programs. He covered the second IRA ceasefire, the Omagh explosion, the Good Friday Agreement, and the Drumcree protests while he was in Northern Ireland.

Davies then went on to work for the BBC Northern Ireland current affairs programme Spotlight for two years, where he discovered the Real IRA’s weapons smuggling network in the Balkans. He also led the investigation into horse race fixing, which earned an RTS award for home current affairs and resulted in the security director of the Jockey Club resigning.
