Her excitement in advancing her profession in Milwaukee is contagious. The origins of Andrea’s family are in Iola, Wisconsin (go T-Birds!). She graduated from the broadcast journalism department at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, and it was there that she was initially employed as a reporter for WQOW News 18. Andrea progressed from there to become a seasoned nightly anchor and ultimately the Assistant News Director. She held the same position when working for the La Crosse ABC affiliate, where she also oversaw an hour-long midday newscast.
Andrea has worked in local news for ten years. During that time, she has reported on presidential visits, political demonstrations at the Capitol, and the 2017 Chetek tornado touchdown, and she also assisted in the establishment of the Jefferson Awards in western Wisconsin, a program that recognizes community leaders and inspires further action.
She has received accolades from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, and Emmy nominations for her work.
