He began his journey to Columbia in the northeast. Joe grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a little town about 15 minutes west of Philadelphia. He graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a broadcast journalism degree in 2009.
He took advantage of various internships while in school, which led to several on-air experiences as a host for Comcast Newsmakers. A local politician is being interviewed by a sportsman… It simply sounds correct.
In the fall of 2009, he accepted a position as a sports anchor and reporter at KNDU in Kennewick, Washington. While working in Washington State, he wore numerous roles, including producing and hosting a Friday night sports special that was named third in the SPJ Northwest Excellence in Journalism Awards in Sports Reporting in 2010.
When the year 2011 arrived, Joe looked for another award-winning ensemble to join. He found a home at WIS, where he was able to work alongside Rick Henry.
Joe enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working out, golfing, and reminiscing about his glory days as a high school pitcher in his spare time.
